This pear-shaped garnet briolette bead is features a flattened profile and is faceted around its entire surface, giving it an attractive light-catching quality that looks great when used for pendants, drops and earrings. String these beads with small metal beads or matching- or complementary-color stone beads between them to create a drop necklace or use them individually to create earring drop designs—if used to create a necklace, add small beads between the briolettes to ensure the strand lies flat.
Traditional red garnet derives its deep color from iron and magnesium.
• Bead sizes and hole sizes are approximate and may vary slightly from bead to bead.
• Red garnets are often almandine garnets but may also be pyrope garnets or a mixture of almandine and pyrope garnets. Both of these varieties of garnet are characterized by a rich red color. They are difficult to distinguish, and we do not attempt to separate them by type.
