This Fretz PrecisionSmith wide raising hammer features one rounded face for riveting or planishing, and one rectangular face for raising. It creates seamless forms with no thinning of the metal—perfect for hammering concave curves. PrecisionSmith hammers are jeweler’s hammers, scaled down to be ideal for use with lighter metal gauges and for fine, detailed work and texturing. The rounded face leaves subtle, shimmering hammer marks on the metal.
Designed by master metalsmith Bill Fretz, this hammer delivers all the features of a Fretz® hammer. The face size, head as well as the weight, length and pistol-grip end of the handle are all designed to Bill Fretz’s specifications for balance, control and precision. The oil-finished handle is made of Padauk wood, known for its strength, stability and beauty; it's specially shaped to give you a light touch, and the thin neck flexes slightly as you hammer for ultimate comfort. The head is cast from 420-grade stainless steel and tool hardened to 50 HRC for maximum durability and effectiveness.
