These sturdy flush cutters are a sturdy, economical tool, ideal for general use. Flush cutters require somewhat more pressure to make a cut than super- or semi-flush cutters, and leave a more noticeable (although still minimal) pinch. The oval head shape helps extend the working life of the blades.
• These cutters have a lap joint; one half of the joint overlaps the other, and a pivot is set through both halves.
• The spring is made of a simple coil of wire tempered to hold its hardness and spring back to its original shape after being compressed; the coil is attached to the inside surface between the tool handles.
• Plastic-dipped handles provide comfort during use, even over long work periods, and a secure grip.
These cutters are made of high-grade tool steel with induction-hardened (to 57 HRC) jaws. Hardened tool steel is a very tough material for cutters, and forging offers the best combination of strength and durability; the jaws will not be nicked or misshapen with normal use. Clean with Cosmoline® or a similar protectant; avoid contact with moisture.
