This 18-gauge "Strata" patterned mokume gane sheet is made with 27 alternating layers of Argentium® 935 Silver and 14-karat palladium white gold; the gold layers are half the thickness of the silver layers. The sheet presents an intricate one-sided white-on-white pattern with the base layer being a thin layer of Argentium Silver. The metal content percentages may vary somewhat in the patterned sheet (and in each finished item you create) due to the swirling mokume gane effect. The pattern forms beautifully and is very malleable.

18-gauge sheet is useful for pendants, mid- and narrow-width ring shanks and for cuff bracelets. As you know, metal sheet has as many uses as there are jewelers and designers who use it to achieve their vision; these suggested uses simply represent some of the more common applications of this metal weight.

Mokume gane sheet is stocked in 3" x 12" pieces; due to the cutting capabilities of the shear, minimum purchase is 1" x 1/2".

Created by Phil Baldwin of Shining Wave Metals, this mokume combines the high quality of Shining Wave products with the brilliant, tarnish-resistant qualities of Argentium® Silver.
