These Swanstrom chain-nose pliers are ideal for forming, shaping or straightening wire and sheet stock; the Delrin® jaw inserts eliminate the risk of marring the surface of the metal. On chain-nose pliers, both jaws are semi-round with flat interior surfaces, tapering from the pivot to the tip. The Delrin® jaws are made of a proprietary thermoplastic resin that resists interaction with chemicals and protects workpieces against marring. The jaws are replaceable, ensuring the extended life of the tool.
• These pliers have a lap joint; one half of the joint overlaps the other, and a screw is set through both. The screw allows the joint to be adjusted as needed.
• The double–leaf spring holds the pliers open and ready to use; make your bend, then simply release pressure to open the jaws. The double-leaf spring consists of flat, tempered metal tabs attached to the inside of each of the tool handles, positioned to meet and hold the handles apart (and the jaws open) until they are squeezed closed, delivering a fast, strong rebound for improved productivity.
• The Soft-Touch™ sure-grip foam handles are longer, wider and ergonomically designed for maximum comfort over extended periods of use. All Swanstrom tool handles are latex-free.
This tool is made of high-carbon, high-chrome alloy steel—the highest quality tool steel—and forged for the best combination of strength and durability. The jaws will not be nicked with normal use and will keep their shape and finish. The anti-glare finish prevents eye strain caused by reflective glare and increases visibility of the workpiece.
Swanstrom Tools manufactures technically advanced cutters and pliers, forged from high chromium, high carbon alloy steel and hardened to 65 HRC. This material, along with a unique proprietary heat treating process and computer-controlled induction edge-hardening maximize tool life.
