This 1/2-hard, sterling silver round wire ideal for creating jump rings, pendant bails, loops and a myriad of components that embellish other findings. Round wire is the bread-&-butter of jewelry making, and is useful for a wide variety of wire-working, -wrapping and -weaving techniques. Metal that is 1/2-hard is partially work-hardened and will hold its shape under some stress; ideal for forming structures that will support other components; to avoid annealing, use only after soldering. Keep in mind that hardness is changeable (by annealing or heat-hardening) and is relative among metal types (each temper will feel and handle differently from one metal to another). When finishing your pieces, also keep in mind that the harder the metal is, the brighter a finish it will take.
This wire is packaged on spools, but may be coiled upon request (10-ozt. maximum per coil). It can be cut to any length that satisfies the system minimum. Orders must weigh at least 0.01 ozt.; if you click 'Add to Cart' for a quantity less than this, the cart will offer a prompt to let you know what the minimum for this item is.
