Melt wax for spruing or for model-making. Use the heated lip on the pot to taper sprue ends, creating the proper angle on the pattern sprue before treeing. The low-profile design allows you to reach the bottom of the pot without risking the burns that can be caused by dipping into deep pots. Ideal for use with Sticky Wax and with green dop wax (always use fresh or nearly-fresh).
Maximum temperature: 170°F
• If using dop wax, ensure that it is fresh. Dop wax is shellac-based and becomes harder to melt over time, both in the normal course of operation and in simply being stored; fresh wax begins to melt at about 150°F and is the ideal working range in this pot. As the wax ages, it will no longer melt well in this pot and should be replaced for best results.
