This sterling silver flattened rounded rectangle slider clasp features a silicone insert that keeps the clasp in place on chain or cord—use it to adjust the length of a chain, necklace or bracelet. Pass the two ends of a chain or cord through the holes in the slider clasp. The chain or cord width should be slightly smaller than the hole size, but not too slim—the silicone lining holds the slider in place while still allowing it to move along the chain, when desired, to make sizing adjustments. Consider fixed end beads on the chain/cord to serve as a stop, ensuring that this clasp cannot be accidentally pulled off the end of the chain/necklace/bracelet.
Hole size: .050"
• Because this clasp is intended to grip your cord or chain, it can be a bit tricky to get it started. We recommend twisting the cord as you push the clasp onto it. As soon as there is enough cord emerging from the clasp to grasp, simply pull the cord through.
• IMPORTANT: Sterling silver is an alloy containing metals that react with chemicals found in air and produce tarnish; high moisture levels, exposure to sunlight and contaminants such as salt water increase this reaction. Take steps to protect your sterling findings by keeping them in airtight packages, use tarnish-resistant products (such as tarnish tabs or strips) that absorb harmful chemicals, and store sterling findings in a cool, dry place. Most tarnish is easily removed by polishing with a mild abrasive or soaking in an anti-tarnish solution.
