This handcrafted, sterling silver festoon component is bezel-set with one 25 x 5mm fluorite baguette stone, highlighted with blue and purple striations. The component includes a closed ring on each end, placed on the top edge of the rectangle—ideal as a festoon or for creating links. Add a jump ring to each end and connect the component to a chain for a festoon, link multiple components together for a unique chain, or connect a variety of drops and dangles in a more complex necklace design. The back of the bezel mounting is open, allowing light to pass through, enhancing the look of the gemstone. Fine silver plating provides a tarnish-resistant finish.

This unusual mineral presents drastically different colors depending on the source of the light playing on the stone. Under a cool light spectrum, it leans toward the blue shades; under a warmer spectrum, the color appears much more purplish. Because of this ever-changing look, this stone is a great favorite among jewelry makers and their customers; however, the stone is relatively soft and requires careful handling.
