Sterling Silver Dual Topaz and Citrine Hearts Pendant

Description

This sterling silver pendant features two heart drops—one genuine topaz and one genuine citrine. The hearts are faceted on both sides to catch the light and make the most of their earth tones. Each heart hangs freely from the smooth, brightly finished oval ring bail. The simplest of bail styles, ring bails are ideal for lightweight or inexpensive pendant designs.

A hard, usually transparent aluminum silicate gem material, topaz has a brilliance that rivals more expensive stones, making it an economical alternative to more costly gemstones. Most topaz colors are heat-treated or irradiated to enhance their color. In folklore, this stone is believed to dispel sadness and fear, to ward off poisons and to reverse infertility. Citrine, although often mistakenly referred to as topaz, belongs to the quartz family. Named for its bright citrus color, citrine can present a range of yellow hues, from pale yellow to deep brownish gold. According to folklore, citrine conveys the power of the sun. Golden citrine has a highly sought-after, deeply saturated golden-brown color. Topaz and citrine are both birthstones for November.

Please Note: IMPORTANT: Sterling silver is an alloy containing metals that react with chemicals found in air and produce tarnish; high moisture levels, exposure to sunlight and contaminants such as salt water increase this reaction. Take steps to protect your sterling findings by keeping them in airtight packages, use tarnish-resistant products (such as tarnish tabs or strips) that absorb harmful chemicals, and store sterling findings in a cool, dry place. Most tarnish is easily removed by polishing with a mild abrasive or soaking in an anti-tarnish solution.
