The pale peach-pink color, clarity and durability of this oval faceted morganite make it an ideal complement to a wide variety of jewelry styles. The color of the stone pairs well with both white metals and rose gold; set it alone in a simple setting, in pairs or clusters of morganite or in combination with gemstones in complementary colors.
Morganite, a member of the beryl family, owes its color to the presence of manganese (or cesium) in the stone. The color of the stones may range from rose pink to purplish-pink to peach—even to an orange-pink. Morganite gemstones tend to be free of inclusions and very clear.
The oval cut is an even, symmetrical shape but elongated. The arrangement of its facets is similar to that of a round brilliant, designed to maximize light and color.
• Care: Clean with warm, soapy water. Ultrasonic and steam cleaning are usually safe.
• Unless precisely calibrated to an exact size, gemstone sizes vary slightly. Rio allows a tolerance of +/– 0.2mm for gemstones larger than 4mm.
