Designed by Jason's Works to streamline the process of creating rings from minted coins, this set of stainless steel reduction dies allow you to start folding your punched coin outward to form and shape the ring band. The dies can be used to reduce the ring band and can be used in conjunction with the die plate that comes with the Durston Ring stretcher (available separately). The set includes 11 dies with two slope degrees, 17° and 25°, and an organizer made from durable red oak.
Made of aircraft-quality steel and highly polished to preserve the detail and finish of your coins, each die is permanently marked with the size and angle profile, making it easy to keep the dies organized and to select the size you need when you need it.
Jason Stinchfield, founder and owner of Jason's Works, raised the idea of creating rings out of minted coins to a professional level and pioneered techniques and tooling that make the process fast, effective and repeatable. His work is widely recognized among jeweler/metalsmiths who work with coins to produce memorable pieces of wearable art. He chooses to openly share his own experience and the techniques he has developed, freely exchanging ideas and experiences with colleagues; this has brought rapid growth and vibrancy to this area of jewelry design.
• Anneal often as you shape your coin using reduction dies; this protects the metal integrity and design details of the coin.
