This quality heavy-duty shear operates with a hand bar that is separate from the cutting blade, resulting in a straight, even cut up to 178mm (7") wide. The precision-ground, hardened and tempered cutting blade cuts soft metals up to .080" thick (12 gauge), non-ferrous metals up to .050" thick (16 gauge) and mild steel up to .035" thick (19 gauge). The shear is designed with a convenient flip-down hold-bar that secures the material being cut, and raises to allow access to the blades. The hand bar fits to the left or right to suit the user, and its 19" length gives leverage to make cut almost effortless. The blade is perpendicular to the hand bar for an unobstructed view of the cutting path. The ruler, machined from solid steel and precision ground to be straight and true, is stepped so you can place it close to the work and is marked in precise 1/16" increments. The table supports the metal being fed into the blade, resulting in a clean, square cut. This shear has all-steel construction and mounts to any work surface; the squared front corners have convenient tightening screws. Requires 14"W x 26"D x 12-1/2"H of bench space.
