This GRS® GraverHone VS Apex complete sharpening system delivers everything you need to sharpen gravers efficiently with reliable, repeatable results.
The GRS® GraverHone VS and its diamond wheels (included) polish gravers to the desired finish using an easy step-by-step process to produce stronger, sharper tool edges that make brighter cuts with cleaner lines and richer shading in all your engraving projects. The spindle and drive plate on each GraverHone are individually aligned with the top of the unit to consistently deliver repeatable grinds. An adjustable speed dial on the front panel (400–900rpm) makes it perfect for a variety of sharpening tasks—run at lower speeds for standard sharpening applications, operate at higher speeds to quickly create customized tool shapes. The built-in high torque motor easily handles aggressive sharpening tasks and the direct-drive system provides a long life with quiet operation. The GraverHone features dual direction, making it ideal for right- or left-handed users. A quick wheel-change adapter with no threads allows two-second wheel changes. The GraverHone VS is built with a tough steel housing for durability.
The Apex dual angle fixture with Speedline dials and a sharpening post (all included) provide the ability to set the graver at the precise angle required for the desired cutting edge. The redesigned Apex dual angle fixture, with a new shorter front profile, accommodates longer gravers. Attach the fixture to the sharpening post (included), then easily find and set the desired sharpening angle quickly—use the knurled locking knob to secure the dial in place. The sharpening post has a strong 80-lb. magnetic base that holds the post and fixture securely in place during use or, when needed, dampen the magnet strength by covering it with the provided base cover to enable some movement.
The angle fixture also uses the provided dual angle dial, which holds the graver during sharpening—the dual angle dial is well marked for angle selection and includes an "F" marking to indicate the setting for the face angle. Or, use one of the color-coded, clearly marked Apex Speedline dials—in the most popular graver angles: 90°, 105° and 120°. The included dial organizer, a four-slot rack, keeps these dials organized and within reach.
