This Glardon Vallorbe® three-square (triangle) escapement buffing file is coated with a fine abrasive and is ideal for your most delicate filing and shaping tasks, for smoothing tiny details, and for creating inside cuts. Use this file for pre-polishing and finishing corners, edges, sharp angles and creases or folds. It is also useful for shaping the prongs on marquise- or pear-cut settings. The file has three flat sides of equal width that taper to a fine point.
This file has a Swiss cut #10; Swiss-cut files are graded by the number of teeth, counting teeth perpendicular to the long axis of the file. In all cut styles, the higher the number, the finer its cut.
Escapement files are narrower and thinner than standard needle files with shorter cutting surfaces and longer, square handles. Effective on gold, silver, platinum, titanium, steel and other metals, escapement files are best suited for work that requires little metal removal.
The first choice for most jewelers, Glardon Vallorbe® files are manufactured to the highest production standards, made in Switzerland of the finest heat-tempered chrome-alloy steel. The files are precision-ground to cut quickly and accurately and to last longer than just about any other file on the market.
