This Glardon Vallorbe® habilis three-square (triangle) wax file is ideal for jobs that need finer shaping than a hand file can offer but are too large for a needle file. This file has three flat sides of equal width that taper to a fine point; all three sides have teeth. It's a great choice for filing corners, edges, sharp angles and creases or folds, and is also useful for shaping the prongs on marquise- or pear-cut settings. The file features a built-in handle, eliminating the need for a holder or vise.
This file has a Swiss cut #3; Swiss-cut files are graded by the number of teeth, counting teeth perpendicular to the long axis of the file. In all cut styles, the higher the number, the finer its cut.
Wax files feature broad patterns of coarse teeth that quickly and efficiently cut and shape hard wax and other relatively soft materials for model-making. The teeth resist clogging, allow you to form the basic shape for your design models, and then refine their details prior to creating molds.
The first choice for most jewelers, Glardon Vallorbe® files are manufactured to the highest production standards, made in Switzerland of the finest heat-tempered chrome-alloy steel. The files are made from tough, durable high-carbon steel (66HRC) and precision-ground to cut quickly and accurately and to last longer than just about any other file on the market.
