This Friedrich Dick crossing needle file features a double half-round shape—each with a different radius—and is an ideal choice for filling inside ring shanks and other curved interior surfaces. The double-cut file tapers to a point in width and thickness along its length. Along the edges, the curved sides meet at a sharp angle.
This file has a German cut #5; German-cut files are graded by the number of teeth, counting teeth parallel to the long axis of the file. German cuts start coarser than Swiss and go finer, offering more increments for more precise cutting. In all cut styles, the higher the number, the finer its cut.
