The A-grade white freshwater cultured potato-shaped pearls on this strand feature parallel striations that offer a natural variation in each pearl. String them to make a traditional pearl necklace or pair them with other colors of pearls and beads on a complementary-color cord for a more complex, multi-color look.
Freshwater cultured pearls are cultivated in fresh water from mussels, often the triangle shell mussel (Hyriopsis cumingii), that are specially selected for their prolific production of nacre. It is not unusual for a single mussel to produce multiple pearls simultaneously. According to one legend, the pearl was formed from the tears of the goddess of love. For many, pearls are a symbol of pure heart and mind, honesty and integrity.
A-grade pearls feature surfaces that show a few insignificant blemishes. Their luster is good, exhibiting some depth.
Each package includes one temporarily strung 15"–16" strand.
