This deadblow hammer is ideal for shaping sheet metal for anticlastic or synclastic forming. The hollow head has one wide curved round face and one narrow, cone-shaped face, and is filled with steel shot. With each blow, the shot slides from one end of the head to the other, maximizing the power of the strike, stabilizing the impact and reducing rebound and reverberation back into the hand and arm. The head is made of Delrin®, an industrial thermoplastic; these hammer faces are ideal for forming metal into anticlastic or synclastic forms without marring or thinning the metal. Use these hammers with synclastic forming stakes for best results. The handle is made of hickory.
