This luminous oval mother-of-pearl cabochon features a stylized bull's-eye pattern created with a combination of laser- and hand-engraving. Use the cabochon as the centerpiece of a pendant or brooch, or as the front of a decorative button. This component is an ideal match for any metal color; yellow contrasts the pearlescent white color for bold, striking designs while white complements the iridescence of the stone, creating a softer, more delicate look.
Named for its resemblance to the finish and color of pearls, mother-of-pearl cabochons are made from the hard, iridescent material that forms on the inside of some shells and shellfish. It is used for inlay and to create beads, cameos, cabochons, buttons, and other ornamental objects.
