This dead-soft 8-gauge bronze round wire is ideal for creating jump rings, pendant bails, loops and a myriad of components that embellish other findings; use it as practice wire before wire-wrapping with precious metal wire. Round wire is the bread-&-butter of jewelry making, and is useful for a wide variety of wire-working, -wrapping and -weaving techniques. Dead soft wire is easy to bend, shape and hammer; it is an ideal starting point for forming, shaping and wire-wrapping. Keep in mind that hardness is changeable (by annealing or heat-hardening) and is relative among metal types (each temper will feel and handle differently from one metal to another). When finishing your pieces, also keep in mind that the harder the metal is, the brighter a finish it will take.
This wire is packaged in 1-lb. coils.
Bronze fabrication material offers a slightly antiqued yellow-metal look ideal for mixed metal and alternative-metal designs. As a base metal, bronze also provides a very affordable price point.
