One of the American Mined™ line of gemstones, Amelia Teal Amazonite™ comes from gem rough produced exclusively at the Morefield Gem Mine in Amelia County, Virginia. Amelia County is known for its minerals, including the nation's best supply of Amazonite. This round amazonite cabochon features a mottled color saturation, occasionally with white or light-blue streaks. Its soft, wax-like finish and blue-green color make it a great choice for themed jewelry designs. While it pairs well with any color of metal, its color is beautifully offset by silver mountings.

Known as “the Amazon stone,” Amazonite is a form of microcline feldspar and displays a lightly marbled yellow-green to blue-green color. It is generally opaque, and is a relatively soft stone that should be handled with care.

Rio is proud to offer the American Mined™ Collection, a growing selection of gemstones sourced from mines located here in America. These gemstones consistently present the excellent color, clarity and quality we look for in every stone we offer you. Each of these gemstones allows us to provide a clear, documentable path from the mine to your bench; you and your customers can be confident that every one is mined, cut and processed under conditions that meet all standards for worker safety, environmental protection and responsible production.
