How To Attach the Threaded Magnetic Clasp

This inventive three-piece magnetic clasp is ideal for any 4mm cord and provides a sleek, professional finish. The clasp is simple to attach once you learn how, following these simple instructions.

Any two-part epoxy adhesive should do a fine job attaching this clasp; UHU® and Gorilla Glue® are recommended by the manufacturer.

  1. Attaching a threaded magnetic clasp Cut 4mm diameter leather to the desired length and create your necklace design as desired. To attach the clasp, add a drop of glue inside the cup of one of the threaded magnetic end caps. Place one end of the leather into the end cap and allow the glue to set.
  2. Attaching a threaded magnetic clasp Pass the unfinished end of the leather through the threaded end of the cylinder. Bring the cylinder up to the end cap attached in step 1.
  3. Add your beads or charms to the leather.
  4. Place a drop of glue into the second threaded end cap. Position the unfinished end of the leather into the end cap and allow the glue to set.
  5. Attaching a threaded magnetic clasp Bring the magnets together to close the clasp. Slide the cylinder (threaded end first) up to the threaded end caps and screw it into place.
  6. Attaching a threaded magnetic clasp The cylinder covers the threaded magnet ends giving the piece a sleek finished look. The threads on the end caps cannot not pass through the unthreaded end of the cylinder, so it naturally stops in the perfect position (and, when open, cannot fall off the necklace and get lost!).
  7. To open the clasp, unscrew the cylinder exposing only one end cap. Slide the magnets apart to separate them.
