Properly prepared surfaces help eliminate adhesion and other problems when plating. Acid dip is also used between plating steps to maintain a chemically clean and active surface. Rinse, acid dip and re-rinse steps are needed after most plating baths and always after electrocleaner. Contains an acid salt compound. Mix with distilled water. 2 oz. dry mix makes one quart acid dip solution.
please note: Acid dip is not a substitute for electrocleaning pieces prior to plating.
This is a Rio Grande Exclusive.
How To Use Midas Acid Dip
Steps to rinse, acid dip, and rinse again are called for before and after most baths. Following these steps leaves the workpiece clean, which aids in adhesion and also ensures that residual acids or cyanide are removed. This avoids combining harmful chemicals and makes the workpiece safer to handle upon completion of plating.
Solution Preparation: Add warm deionized or distilled water to make one quart of solution.
Pour amount needed for use into Pyrex® beaker.
Use at room temperature.
Water-rinse workpiece to remove solutions from previous bath.
Immerse workpiece in acid dip and agitate so the solution has access to recessed areas.
Water-rinse workpiece thoroughly again before continuing to next step.
