Bonny Doon offers a new spin on the classic metal-forming stake. Bonny Doon stakes are CNC-milled from hexagonal stock creating precise synclastic and anticlastic shapes with less flex than found in traditional stakes. The hexagonal center of this stake clamps securely into a bench vise, providing a more stable work surface compared to traditional forming stakes. Each end of this stake has four graduated anticlastic depressions of varying widths. The curves between the depressions can be used for small synclastic forming. When used with the Bonny Doon urethane hammer this stake becomes a must-have for any metalsmith.
The stake can be secured in most standard bench vises; however, for the most secure hold, use with the Bonny Doon vertical vise--the points of the hex shape index into the grooves in the vise face, providing an uncompromising grip on the stake. Milled from 1-1/4" hexagonal steel stock.
Depression widths (L-R, as shown): 17mm, 18.5mm, 21mm, 20mm, 16mm, 18mm,18mm and 17.5mm
