Description

This American Mined™ peridot, mined in Arizona, presents a clarity and an appealing green color that makes it perfect for all kinds of jewelry. Peridot is one of the birthstones for August.

Peridot is the gem form of the mineral olivine and is one of the few gemstones that occurs only in one color. The the green hues can vary from yellowish to brownish green, from light olive green to vibrant green. The color of each stone is a result of iron in its chemical composition.

Rio is proud to offer the American Mined™ Collection, a growing selection of gemstones sourced from mines located here in America. These gemstones consistently present the excellent color, clarity and quality we look for in every stone we offer you. Each of these gemstones allows us to provide a clear, documentable path from the mine to your bench; you and your customers can be confident that every one is mined, cut and processed under conditions that meet all standards for worker safety, environmental protection and responsible production.

The oval cut is an even, symmetrical shape but elongated. The arrangement of its facets is similar to that of a round brilliant, designed to maximize light and color.
